Let’s Talk Dea...

All human fears are rooting from fear of death…

We struggle with the definition and try to deny it when it comes to ourselves!

Death is real.

It will come.

And you are never fully prepared. It is something we experience over and over again in small parts of our life cycle, or witnessed it in others but always manage to cut off our association with it.

Why be perfect when...

Don’t you feel the pressure of being perfect at everything you do stressful, time consuming and at times even depressing?
I can confess that I am tired of trying for perfection and you know what? Since I don’t care that much I feel so much better.
This urge and pressure of being the best Mom, the best employee, the best Boss, the best this and the best that is just killing us!

What can the change...

Ayurveda is a combination of two words in Sanskrit (Ayur or Ayus= Life and Veda = Science). It therefore together means “Science of Life”. The Foundational component of Ayurveda is the five elements: Space, Air, Fire, Water and Earth, called “Pancha Maha Bhutas”. These elements combine into three constitution: Vata (Space/Air), Pitta (Fire/Water), Kapha (Water/Earth)

I don’t know about you but I am feeling tired and need more sleep these days. Looking outside I see the trees losing their leaves and days becoming shorter, and birds flying away…everything in nature seems to be going inward and quieting down…into a deep winter sleep.

However we are not. We carry the same pressure if not more, going towards Christmas, Exams, projects, planning and continue with more doing. The tension of having to perform, achieve and present is ongoing…

Types of Yoga

Part of our programme - Yoga teachings

Hatha Yoga

The base and mother of all physical yoga. All other types of Yoga root from here. It is where through physical stretches we open the energy channels in the body to flow the Prana and reach the state of meditation.

Pranayama and Meditation

Breath work and discipline, working with Kriyas in order to reach the state of meditation and unity (Samadhi). I use visualization techniques and Mantras coming from Tantric philosophy and used by the Sadhus and Yogis in the past.

Vinyasa Flow

Hatha based yoga in a more contemporary approach with poses flowing smoothly one after another. It is popular in the west and people use it as a form of workout.

Yoga Nidra

Nidra in Sanskrit means sleep and this is referring to the Yogic sleep where one is in total relaxation, floating in their Alfa mode of the brain but fully conscious. It is a form of relaxation and no physical movement involved. Its guided throughout the practice by the instructor.

Restorative Yoga

This is a type of yoga that seeks to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation with the aid of props. Use of props will allow the practitioner to maintain balance while they are stimulating and relaxing their body.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a counter balance to a more vigorous and physical yoga focusing on fascia which are the tissues in the body holding our muscles together. Holding the poses longer and moving with awareness allows the mind to quieten and go inward.

Class Schedule

Refresh & Recharge: Yoga & Life Coaching

Saturday 1st December – 14:00-16:15

Frustrated that you’re still in a busy loop and can’t get out of it? Feeling charged by the festive energy of the winter but afraid it won’t last? Tired of adding more to your to-do list?

Integrating principles from yoga and life coaching techniques, during the workshop we’ll share simple strategies you can apply to your life immediately to feel clearer, stop burning out, and have more balance.

If you want to:

  • Switch off from work each day and be more present with loved ones
  • Feel more confident at work and speak up more
  • Get stuff done without feeling exhausted
  • Feel lighter and live with more energy daily
  • Get to do the things that really light you up, that you just never ‘get around’ to

Jointly led by Life Coach, Danielle Brooker, from The Daisy Patch and Yoga and Meditation Teacher, Sue Rahmani, from Yoga For Now, our Refresh and Recharge wellness sessions are all about integrating the restorative benefits of body, mind and spirit. We start with a gentle yoga practice to get your body moving, followed by group interactive coaching exercises and close in a guided meditation.

Enjoyed the balance of talking and Asana and felt really open and relaxed. Loved the handout that I could take with me.

Sue made me disconnect from the world and I could visualise my own light.

I loved how Sue simplified things and linked the colours, sound and symbols to the Chakras. When is the next workshop?

As usual very enlightening. It is good to have the knowledge before the practice and understand how movement affects the body.

I really enjoyed this workshop and can feel the goodness it brought to my mind and body. I felt it was very well structured and will not change anything.
