Types of Yoga

Part of our programme - Yoga teachings

Hatha Yoga

The base and mother of all physical yoga. All other types of Yoga root from here. It is where through physical stretches we open the energy channels in the body to flow the Prana and reach the state of meditation.

Pranayama and Meditation

Breath work and discipline, working with Kriyas in order to reach the state of meditation and unity (Samadhi). I use visualization techniques and Mantras coming from Tantric philosophy and used by the Sadhus and Yogis in the past.

Vinyasa Flow

Hatha based yoga in a more contemporary approach with poses flowing smoothly one after another. It is popular in the west and people use it as a form of workout.

Yoga Nidra

Nidra in Sanskrit means sleep and this is referring to the Yogic sleep where one is in total relaxation, floating in their Alfa mode of the brain but fully conscious. It is a form of relaxation and no physical movement involved. Its guided throughout the practice by the instructor.

Restorative Yoga

This is a type of yoga that seeks to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation with the aid of props. Use of props will allow the practitioner to maintain balance while they are stimulating and relaxing their body.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a counter balance to a more vigorous and physical yoga focusing on fascia which are the tissues in the body holding our muscles together. Holding the poses longer and moving with awareness allows the mind to quieten and go inward.

Class Schedule

Burnout to Balance

Saturday 19th January – 14:00 – 16:15

Struggling to fit everything in and keep everyone happy all the time?  Feeling anxious, stressed and low in energy as a result?

I know, I struggled with it for many years, thinking I could control it and it would get better soon. It never really did! As a matter of fact, it got worse.

I spent many evenings at the office to please my boss and instead got my family waiting at home, upset. There were many missed good night kisses and bath times with my children.

Can’t tell how many times I cancelled on best friend.

Oh boy… and those lonely nights in bed, crying myself to sleep, feeling anxious, stressed and stuck!

As a yoga & meditation teacher and coach for almost a decade, and experience in corporate luxury fashion for over two decades, I have developed these workshops to show you simple ways in transforming lives from “Burnout to Balance”.

This is the result of many years of research, study and personal experience, I have simplified and put together.

Curious to know more?

Join me, Sue Rahmani, and let me share some of my secrets that no other Yoga teacher ever shows you!

Mid-winter Urban Day Retreat

Saturday 26th January – 9:30-18:00 at Secret Location in London

Another beautiful Collaboration with Daisy patch Coaching.

Craving space to breathe in your life right now?

Feeling stuck in a cycle of busy?

You’re invited to Recharge Yourself.

A full day urban retreat designed with your whole being in mind. We’ll be incorporating movement, meditation and coaching practices throughout the day to guide you to let go of what is no longer serving you and to create space for calmness and clarity in your life right now.

If you’ve been:

  • adding more and more to your schedule without a break
  • craving some me time but too caught up in commitments for others
  • desperate to make your yoga class but just haven’t found the time
  • feeling heavy and lethargic in the mornings
  • having bursts of motivation and then falling back into the busy cycle
  • slow on decisions in your life because things just feel so clouded and foggy

Then THIS is for you. This is your time to RECHARGE.

So often we rush around our lives in ‘fix it’ mode. We want to feel different so we desperately say yes to anything. Or, we bury ourselves in our usual routine because it feels oddly comfortable to just keep going— if that’s the very thing that’s led us to feeling disconnected or tired. Specially with the heavy energy of winter when nature requires more hibernation and rest.

What if you could capture this energy in your own life in a sustainable way? Where you don’t overbook your social calendar and instead you prioritise the stuff that really matters. The things that light you up consistently.

In order to get to feeling energised, you’re going to have to let go a little … of the things that are no longer serving you in your life.

In this full day retreat that’s exactly where we’ll focus. On release. So that you can recharge. On letting go. So you can have more clarity, connection and calmness in your life.

Through movement and gentle yoga practices, guided coaching tools and exercises, group conversation, and deeply restorative meditation… you’re going to leave feeling completely renewed.

New Year Resolution...

What is it with us? Are we loosing the control or are we turning into control freaks?

It was one autumn afternoon in October. I remember it vividly.

I was at my desk and suddenly it happened. I was thinking about it for a while and I knew this routine is not sustainable for much longer. It has made me mentally and physically sick. What I did not know was how bad it was!

Let’s Talk Dea...

All human fears are rooting from fear of death…

We struggle with the definition and try to deny it when it comes to ourselves!

Death is real.

It will come.

And you are never fully prepared. It is something we experience over and over again in small parts of our life cycle, or witnessed it in others but always manage to cut off our association with it.

Why be perfect when...

Don’t you feel the pressure of being perfect at everything you do stressful, time consuming and at times even depressing?
I can confess that I am tired of trying for perfection and you know what? Since I don’t care that much I feel so much better.
This urge and pressure of being the best Mom, the best employee, the best Boss, the best this and the best that is just killing us!

What can the change...

Ayurveda is a combination of two words in Sanskrit (Ayur or Ayus= Life and Veda = Science). It therefore together means “Science of Life”. The Foundational component of Ayurveda is the five elements: Space, Air, Fire, Water and Earth, called “Pancha Maha Bhutas”. These elements combine into three constitution: Vata (Space/Air), Pitta (Fire/Water), Kapha (Water/Earth)

WINTER PRESSURE WHEN...

I don’t know about you but I am feeling tired and need more sleep these days. Looking outside I see the trees losing their leaves and days becoming shorter, and birds flying away…everything in nature seems to be going inward and quieting down…into a deep winter sleep.

However we are not. We carry the same pressure if not more, going towards Christmas, Exams, projects, planning and continue with more doing. The tension of having to perform, achieve and present is ongoing…

TESTIMONIALS

Enjoyed the balance of talking and Asana and felt really open and relaxed. Loved the handout that I could take with me.

Joanna

Sue made me disconnect from the world and I could visualise my own light.

Sabrina

I loved how Sue simplified things and linked the colours, sound and symbols to the Chakras. When is the next workshop?

Sharon

As usual very enlightening. It is good to have the knowledge before the practice and understand how movement affects the body.

Marine

I really enjoyed this workshop and can feel the goodness it brought to my mind and body. I felt it was very well structured and will not change anything.
